Frequently asked
What's free, and what needs a subscription?
Searching any airport worldwide and viewing decoded METAR/TAF, favorites, runway crosswind, NOTAMs, D-ATIS and radio frequencies are free. Metarly Pro ($0.99/month with a 3-day free trial) unlocks the live weather map, route briefing with winds aloft, the VFR navlog, and all 12 flight calculators.
How do I manage or cancel my subscription?
Subscriptions are handled by Apple. On your iPhone or iPad, open Settings → your name → Subscriptions → Metarly, or tap Manage Subscription in Metarly's Settings. Cancel at least 24 hours before the renewal date to avoid the next charge.
I'm already subscribed but a new device shows the paywall.
Make sure you're signed into the same Apple Account, then tap Restore Purchases on the paywall or in Metarly's Settings. Your subscription is tied to your Apple Account and works across all your devices.
Why does Metarly ask for my location?
Only to find the airports nearest you and center the map. Your location stays on your device and is never sent to us. Metarly works fully if you decline — you can search any airport by identifier. You can change this anytime in iOS Settings.
Where does the weather come from?
Official public sources: the NOAA Aviation Weather Center (METAR/TAF/SIGMET), Open-Meteo (winds aloft), RainViewer (radar), NAV CANADA (graphical area forecasts), and OurAirports (runways & frequencies). Coverage is worldwide.
Can I rely on Metarly for flight planning?
No. Metarly is advisory only and is not a certified navigation or flight-planning tool. Always obtain an official weather briefing and verify with authoritative sources before every flight. See our Terms of Use.
