Privacy Policy

Metarly respects your privacy. This policy explains what Metarly does — and does not — do with information when you use the app. In short: Metarly has no user accounts, collects no personal information, and contains no advertising, analytics, or tracking.

Who we are

  • Metarly is operated by Aventura Virtual Solutions Inc ("Metarly", "we", "us"), the data controller for the limited processing described here. For any privacy question or request, email hello@metarlyapp.com.

Information we do not collect

  • Metarly has no accounts and no sign-in. We do not ask for your name, email, phone number, or any other identifier.
  • We do not collect, store, sell, rent, or share your personal information.
  • Metarly contains no third-party advertising, no analytics or measurement SDKs, and no tracking technologies. We do not use the advertising identifier and do not track you across apps or websites.

Information stored on your device

  • Your home airport, favorites, units, appearance, and aircraft profile are stored on your device — and, if you use iCloud, in your personal iCloud account. We cannot see this data.

Location

  • If you grant location access ("While Using the App"), Metarly uses your approximate location only on your device — to find nearby airports and center the map. Your location is never sent to us, stored on a server, or shared with third parties. You can change or revoke this at any time in iOS Settings, and Metarly remains usable without it.

Weather & aeronautical data

  • To show weather, Metarly sends an airport identifier or a map region — never your identity — directly from your device to public aviation-data services: the NOAA Aviation Weather Center, Open-Meteo, RainViewer, NAV CANADA, OurAirports, and a community D-ATIS service. As with any internet request, those services receive your device's IP address and the request, governed by their own privacy policies. We do not control these services and are not affiliated with them.

iCloud sync

  • If iCloud is enabled on your device, your favorites and settings sync across your devices through Apple's iCloud key-value store. That data resides in your Apple account under Apple's Privacy Policy; we do not access it.

Purchases

  • Subscriptions are processed by Apple. Metarly never receives or stores your payment details. Apple's Privacy Policy governs the transaction.

Legal bases (EEA / UK)

  • Where the EU GDPR or UK GDPR applies, our limited processing relies on your consent (for location) and on our legitimate interests / the performance of our agreement with you in delivering the features you request. We are not the controller of data held in your iCloud account or processed by Apple for purchases.

Your rights

  • Because we hold no personal data about you, there is generally nothing for us to access, correct, export, or delete. Where applicable law grants rights — under the GDPR/UK GDPR (access, rectification, erasure, restriction, objection, portability, and the right to complain to your supervisory authority), or under the California CCPA/CPRA (to know, delete, correct, and opt out of the "sale" or "sharing" of personal information, free from discrimination) — you may contact hello@metarlyapp.com and we will respond as required by law.
  • We do not "sell" or "share" personal information as those terms are defined under U.S. state privacy laws, and we have not done so.

Data retention & security

  • We retain no personal data. Data stored on your device or in your iCloud account persists under your control and is removed when you delete that data or uninstall the app. All network requests use HTTPS/TLS.

Children

  • Metarly is rated 4+, is not directed to children, and we knowingly collect no data from anyone, including children under the age of 13 (or 16 where applicable).

International users

  • Any iCloud or purchase data is handled by Apple under Apple's global privacy and transfer framework. We ourselves transfer no personal data internationally.

Changes

  • We may update this policy from time to time. We will revise the "Last updated" date above and post the current version in the app and on this page.
